Window Film magazine and the International Window Film Association are gearing up for the 2012 International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off, which will take place beginning September 20, 2012 in Louisville, Kentucky. The conference will allow film technicians and others to learn from experts within the industry. More information about the festival as well as registration information can be found at Window Film Magazine. Tint King will be attending this amazing show so if you want to come see us stop on by.
The Convention at a Glance
The convention lasts three days, from September 20th to September 22nd. Multiple sessions are available, including networking opportunities and educational sessions for filmmakers. Some of the highlight events include “An Evening of Champions” on September 20th, which looks at the life and career of boxing great Muhammad Ali, a two-hour long silent charity auction held on September 21st by the Auto Glass Safety Council, and an award ceremony on the evening of Saturday, September 22nd that will be giving awards in both the automotive and architectural window film fields. The convention will include events targeted at automotive and architectural film technicians and repair persons.
The Tint-Off Contest
In addition to the events going on over the course of the three days, the convention will feature an International Window Film Tint-Off. Tint King will be participating in this exciting event at the chance to win $50,000. Each competitor will be given 20 minutes to complete a film installation as part of the opening round of this competition. The top technicians will then be given one hour to complete a larger film installation, with the competition being judged on quality rather than speed. Only if there is a tie is the final time taken into consideration. The competitors have already been finalized, but the competition offers a chance for window tinting aficionados to see professionals in action, providing plenty of potential excitement to the audience, as well as the participants themselves.
With the start of the event mere days away, pre-registration has closed. However, attendees are encouraged to sign up as walk-ins if they are interested in participating. The convention center will be packed with personnel from across the automotive and architectural fields, making it a great opportunity to network and discuss window tinting strategies from across the world. A large exhibit hall will feature dozens of different professionals in their fields, as well as automobiles on the trade show floor as samples. The convention began in 2000, and after 12 years it has been refined and polished, developing into a true extravaganza with something new and exciting at every booth and event.
The International Window Film Conference is one of the cornerstones of the industry in presenting the latest available products and a chance to participate in demos on the floor. Those who attend will get a preview of what is to come in the window tinting industry in 2013 and beyond. They will also get a chance to network with top industry installers. As such, the convention is not only a fun experience, but is also the kind of event that a person can build a career on.
